Urochem 611
HI-BUILD WATERPROOFING & CHEMICAL RESISTANT COATING
DESCRIPTION
Urochem 611 is a solvent free, two-part polyether-based coating. Designed as a 1,5mm seamless waterproofing coating available in both Natural, (not UV Stable) and Aluminium for UV stability. It yields an extremely flexible hi-build product with good chemical resistant and elongation properties.
PRODUCT APPLICATION
It is used as a 1,5mm seamless flexible waterproofing and chemical resistant coating on rooftops and in containment or bounded areas where crack bridging of the substrate is essential.
APPLICATION
- Mix the activator and the base separately before adding the activator to the base and mixing thoroughly for a minimum of 3 minutes with a paddle mixer.
Horizontal
- Apply the correct primer as per data sheet. Urochem 614 for concrete and Urochem 307 for bituminous substrates.
- Apply 1st coat of Urochem 611 to the primed substrate at approx. 1Lt per m2 using a 1.5mm pin rake or notched trowel.
- Spike roll after 10 to 30 min to release any entrapped air and break the surface tension to assist with levelling.
- Apply 2nd coat of Urochem 611 to the 1st coat (within 24 Hours) at 1.5mm per m2 using a 1.6mm pin rake or notched trowel.
- Spike roll after 10 to 30 min to release any entrapped air and to break the surface tension to assist with levelling.
- Leave to cure and open to traffic after 24 Hours.
Vertical and sloping
- Apply Urochem 611 directly to the primed substrate by brush or roller at ±500 microns.
- Note two coats are recommended for vertical applications.
- Overcoat time is temperature dependent, and the first coat must be cured enough that it is not disrupted by the topcoat.
- Intercoat time must not exceed 24 Hours.
SURFACE PREPARATION
- The correct preparation of the surfaces is critical. All surfaces should be clean, sound, and dry, and all laitance or surface contamination should be removed by wire brushing, grinding or grit blasting. Vacuum or blow with compressed air to ensure total removal of dust.
- Moisture content of the substrate must be below 5%.
- On masonry substrates, Urochem 695 primer is recommended.
- All substrates must be prepared as detailed in Surface preparation above.
- Cementitious substrates must be primed with Urochem 614 applied at 7 – 10m² per Lt (depending on porosity of the substrate).
- Bitumen substrates must be thoroughly cleaned, and all loose and friable material must be removed. Solvent wipe with Urochem 901 and allow to dry before application of Urochem 307 primer. (Applied at 6-8m² per Lt, may be overcoated within 1 Hour of application).
CLEANING
Clean all tools immediately after use with Urochem 901. Once the material has polymerised it may only be removed mechanically.
SAFETY
Contains isocyanates. Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not use in confined spaces. Ensure adequate ventilation and the absence of any ignition source. Wear protective clothing. In case of eye contact wash well with water and obtain medical advice.
