Urochem 617
SINGLE COMPONENT POLYURETHANE-BASED ZINC-RICH PRIMER
DESCRIPTION
Urochem 617 is a low viscosity, solvent containing polyurethane pre-polymer than has been enriched with zinc powder and flow agents. The product is applied to metal surfaces where it acts as a passivating coating.
APPLICATION
- Apply by brush or roller to the prepared surfaces and allow to settle and cure. Top or intermediate coat must be applied between 12 and 24 hours after primer is applied.
- As the binder reacts with atmospheric moisture, be sure to seal the container after pouring out the desired quantity.
SAFETY
Contains organic solvents which are flammable. Do not use in confined spaces. Ensure adequate ventilation and the absence of any ignition source. Wear protective clothing. In case of eye contact wash well with water and obtain medical advice.

NOTE:
Zinc reacts with moisture with the subsequent release of hydrogen gas. Do not expose the uncured product to liquid water in a work or fire situation as evolved hydrogen will combust if ignited.
SURFACE PREPARATION
All surfaces to be clean sound and dry. Shot blast steel to SA 2.5. Remove all traces of rust, mill scale, and dirt from the surfaces to be coated.
CLEANING
Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with Urochem 901, as the cured material is very difficult to remove.
PRODUCT APPLICATION
Urochem 617 should be applied to exposed reinforcing bar, angle iron, metal structures, etc. as an anti-corrosion coating.
MIXING
Ensure that the contents of the tin are mixed prior to use by using a slow speed electric drill fitted with a flat mixing paddle.
